is there anyway to link finale to other programs like cubase or cakewalk or protools or whatever I'm not sure what the technical terms are for that right now mostly cause I've only heard about these things never tried them and I am getting sleepy too.  (3:47 AM my time)  Or at least to use my VST instruments in finale 2004.   I am just curious.  Anyway I'm tired I'm going to bed. thanks for your help with any replies to any of my posts.

Hi!

I'm afraid there isn't...

The standard you've heard a lot about lately is called "ReWire" and is developed by the Swedish "Propellerhead" (Producer of Reason, Rebirth, etc.)
One example of using ReWire is syncing Reason, a good MIDI sequencer without audio support with Ableton Live, a good audio sequencer without MIDI support. Se www.propellerhead.se for more info on this technology. You'll also find a listing of all software that use this technology - but there are no notation software in this list (the closest you get is Cubase)

You can route your MIDI signale from Finale to Cubase (or any other sequencer with VST support) - using a application called MIDIYOKE. I've tried it and didn't like it. But there are many old posts on the subject in this forum.

Good luck!
