I have a commission to write a large score for a ballet company and one of the things I have to do is send synthesized orchestral versions as I write. I have an Alesis Quadrasynth Plus which I use to enter the notation, but the sounds are not good enough to send to the choreographer. I've been told to check out Garriton Personal Orchestra. Does anybody know how Finale would work with that or have any other suggestions? I have an iMac OS X 10.3.9 with 512 MB RAM and Finale 2005. I mainly am looking for something that I can figure out easily!

GPO is relatively easy to use with Finale. But you need a real powerful MAC with a lot of ram to playback a full orchestra. What exactly are your computer specs?

If you're considering GPO, then you might be interested in the "group buy" that's just been announced:

Actually, for doing polaroids for the choreographer, I would think the internal soundfonts of 2005 would suffice.

Although, I too have been investigating GPO as well ..and I'm getting mixed signals on how easy it is to use in conjunction w/ Finale freaked
