I have been entering some early music that is in 3/2, 2/2 and cut (4/2) time so I could do part extractions. No matter what I do, the extracted part will not show ANY multimeasure rests. Multimeasure rests have showed on another pieces with no problem.

As an experiment I changed the double whole note rests in a section to two whole rests. Still no multimeasure rests showed.

I then tried earasing the rests, allowing a default whole rest in the measure and suddenly multimeasure rests appeared. The individuals want the double whole note rests in the full score (which are left aligned and STILL have to still be manually centered in the measure- grrrrr).

Is there some reason Finale will not create multimeasure rests with a double whole rest or even two whole note rests? Is it the meter, the rests, or what? (Is this another undocument feature?)

Well, if you need to have double whole rests as the default rest throughout, you have that option in options>document options>notes and rests. Under "Rest Characters," change the default measure rest to the double whole rest. That way, you solve 2 problems: they will be centered throughout, and the multimeasure rests will be created automatically in the parts.
