Hi Everyone!

I have come across a very disconcerting problem entering chords with a midi in key signatures with flats:
as an example a D major chord in the first inversion should look like: D/F# but Finale insists on notating it as D/Gb!!!
As soon as I do the same in a key with sharps, no problem!

Any one else have this problem!
Any one have any ideas how I can sort this out! It is a pain having to go through and edit everything, or constantly change between midi and manual entry.
NB getting Finale do 'learn' the chords, and typing in D/F# does not help one bit finale still insists it is D/Gb!

Thanks in advance for your help,
Bevis

Bevis,
Try this workaround and see if it helps.

-Select the region which has the chords you want to respell
-open the Key Signature dialog (double-click selected region) and set Key to have at least one sharp
-Set "Hold Notes to Original Pitches:Enharmonically" (this is vital)
-Press OK

-Re-open the Key Signature dialog (double-click selected region) and set Key back to original key
-Set "Hold Notes to Original Pitches:Chromatically" (this is vital)
-Press OK

A lot of steps but it actually goes very quickly. Let me know if this works for you.

Sounds like a good suggestion for a feature request - respell chords-only enharmonically.
