Hi all,
I usually doesn't post anything about my concerts here so I hope you will forgive me this one and only time...

I know there are quite a few UK citizens here (and perhaps some Londoners?), so I thought I would grab the opportunity and mention that my orchestral piece "A Freak in Burbank" is being performed at the BBC Proms 2010 in Royal Albert Hall on 23rd August.

More information can be found here: www.bbc.co.uk/proms/2010/whatson/2308.shtml#prom51

There will also be a Proms Intro at 5.45 pm before the concert at Royal College of Music where I and conductor Thomas Dausgaard are being interviewed. (The interview is being broadcasted live on BBC and since English is not my native tongue I'm actually quite nervous about this...)
If anyone of you Londoners are planning to attend this concert, do come by and say hi.

The day after on Tuesday 24th there will be a Portrait Concert at the Royal College of Music with my chamber music.
Information here: www.swedish-hall.org.uk/concert013.asp
Very good musicians in this concert as well. Do come if you can!

All music during these concerts has been composed with Finale! :-) (With the exception of Berlioz and Schumann in the RAH concert of course...)

Best wishes
Albert

Let me add that the concert can be heard via the BBC iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ for one week after the performance, if you go to Radio 3 on the iPlayer and follow through from there. It is also, of course, to be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 as it is performed.

I look forward to listening to it.

Ahem... if anyone in the London area wants to hear previously unheard music by the 18th century Venetian, Antonio Lotti, I'm conducting this Saturday at St. George's Bloomsbury, 7.30pm.

All scores and parts produced in Finale.!

It would be good if the Make Music Blog pages could be open to pro users to post information about their work being used. My archive contains hundreds of works that are in use in concert and opera houses around the world. Not my compositions, but my "engraving"

Perhaps a new forum name devoted to off-tangent items not specifically related to Finale would be the best place for this. If everyone started posting promotional items, this list would get very unwieldy.

If people new to the forum started plastering us with "Hey! Look at me!", I would agree. Albert, as a long-time contributor, gets a pass.

Congratulations.

I'm really sorry if this was seen as a promotional item. The title of this thread was actually some sort of a joke. I have edited this now. (And to be totally honest, this is probably not the best place to promote your concerts anyway. I doubt there are many Head of Orchestras lurking around on this forum, searching for composers to commission new work from... ;-))

The actual reason I posted about this here was that I thought this might be a good opportunity to meet someone from this forum IRL so to speak... You know, chat a bit after the concert and maybe join us for a pint later! :-)

Anyway, thanks for all congratulations!
(Octoechos, I'm still on vacation but I'll be back at work at the end of August. See you then!)

Hi Albert,

l won't be at the London concert, but we are sharing the Copenhagen one. So I'm looking forward to hearing your "Freak" there. I guess you'll be around?

Cheers,
Soren

I didn't mean to be a stick in the mud. Just suggesting that it would, in fact, be nice to have an OT thread for more things like this which would surely be of interest to our little community, without clogging up the main tech forum.

I've just listened to the live radio broadcast of Albert's most effective and impressive piece as it was performed at the Proms. I wish I'd been able to be at the performance in person, and I'll certainly listen to it again via the BBC iPlayer (see my post above). I also intend to be in the audience when his new Oboe Concerto is played in Glasgow on 19 November.
