|Hey guys, sorry for taking so long to respond...|
Actually, I chose NOT to install the Kontakt player and the GPO because I only use Finale for notation. This is, however, interesting that it may be possible to use Ivory with Finale!
This message comes up as the program itself (Finale 2008) is loading, not when I open any particular file. It's as if upon initialization, it searches and detects Ivory's presence and goes through the motions of starting it up as if it were going to use it by searching for the folder where Ivory's sounds are located. Scott, you are correct in assuming that I keep my library located on an external HD which is usually offline when I use Finale. The change of locations to my Ivory Items folder would be the only 'tampering' I have done with the Ivory plug-in. I just don't really understand why Finale insists on locating this folder because I never tried to load Ivory in Finale. Additionally, I have purchased new AUi's since then (Superior Drummer 2.0) who have libraries located on my external HD and Finale hasn't kicked up a fuss about those programs whatsoever.
The only problem this is causing is an annoyance when I start up the program with my external HD offline. Maybe if I reinstalled the program with the Kontakt option enabled, I could figure out a way to get Finale to stop looking for Ivory.
Either way, I really appreciate the feedback you have provided thus far.
P.S. - Justin, if you know offhand of a thread of chapter in the Finale manual where I could learn more about using non-Kontact based libraries with Finale, that would be a big bonus, too!!
