I have a problem where after editing in Studio View, usually using Tempo Tap, Garritan plays back an octave lower in one channel only. I have to change the audio player to something else and then back to Garritan (And reload the ensemble or reset the instruments) and things go back to normal. I am also having problems where a channel will not play back in one measure but then will start to play in another. Muting and Solo have no effect on the missing sound from that channel in that measure of missing sound.
Any ideas?

Both of these could be caused by a hidden exoression or by MIDI data that is there but can't be seen. Have you gone into the MIDI tool and looked for data that could be causing this? Did you apply any expressions that have either of these playback effects?

If you have a file that someone could examine, it can usually be discovered. If it is a 2011 or earlier file, I would give it a crack.

Thanks Zuil.
I have 2011.

When I go into the midi tool and change layers the notes disappear. Is that normal? if I change back to the original layer (while in the tool) the notes stay gone...

I am working in a new document because the old one would not follow tempo changes now matter what did to the settings. Once I copied the music to a new blank file the tempos changes worked perfectly.

If I edit the tempo data in the tempo tool track (the one on top) the Garritan channel for the top layer drops an octave. It will stay that way for any part of the piece when playing back. Close the file and reopen and it is still an octave lower (only that single channel).

The only way it changes is if I change the audio playback to another player like the Finale default or the Apple Quicktime setting. When I change it back to Garritan playback is normal. I have checked for hidden expression and I am not sure how they would effect playback that could be undone by changing away from and back to the Garritan player.

I don't have access to the file here at work but can provide when I get home.
