I am working on a file from another composer. He had SATB in 2 staves, and wanted it split out to four. Using Explode, I got it to the four staves, but I have a stem direction issue in the Tenor and Bass lines. What was layer one has the stems up, and what was layer two had them down, as they should be. Now, however, since they are both layer one, the stems should follow standard direction rules. I can't make it happen. I have gone to the Doc options and Unfroze Direction, but they won't change.

Am I missing something?

File is attached, in 2012.

You can use Utilities/Stem Direction to fix things. However, it appears a custom Staccato articulation was created for the notes to accommodate for layer issues, I guess. So, you may want to replace those with the default Staccato.
