In the documentation, it shows the Staff Styles window for a PC, and there is a place to change notation style. I'm on a Mac, and in that same window I don't see that option. I want to change a drum staff so it can play orchestra bells. Anybody have an idea how to create a staff style that can change notation styles on a Mac? I checked in both 2014 and 2012.

That is now done with the Change Instrument Utility.

P.S.: My documentation for 2012 and 2014 does not show Notation Style in the documentation as being available in Staff Styles.

The only problems with that solution (as neat as it is—kudos to MM!) is that you can't change midmeasure, and you can't easily have bells at the top of the staff while the feet are playing bass drum on a drum kit. You'll have to work out creative kludges for those two eventualities.

I don't think the old way handled mid-measure changes well, if at all.

As far as simultaneous instruments,, I think there are workarounds. I don't think the old way handled that either, but my memory may be fuzzy.
