I often get files in PDF format for printing and need to scale many of them, e.g. from letter to 9x12.

I have a macro that opens each one in Preview, scales to the appropriate page size, and saves as PDF. But it still involves opening each file individually.

I would love it if there were an app or Automator action that could do this for many files (sometimes dozens or hundreds) at once. I have Acrobat and it doesn't even seem possible to do it there.

Any ideas?

Surely, when you print it to 9 x 12 paper, you can just set a 105% scale in the print menu. You don't need to alter the PDF itself, do you?

It might be possible to write an Applescript Service that will print the PDF to a revised paper size and scale, but you would need a Save-to-disk print queue, like CUPS-PDF, to select as the printer.

I typically do need to alter the PDF because I then need to impose booklets or do some other appending to other files. I like to have files 100% size for archival especially if I need to re-print.
