While current versions of Finale and PrintMusic are fully compatible with this new version of the Mac El Capitan operating system, previous versions are not. Here are our corresponding recommendations:
If you’re using Finale 2014d, update to the free Finale 2014.5 (or don’t update to 10.11.6). If you’re using PrintMusic 2014, update to the free PrintMusic 2014.5 (or don’t update to 10.11.6).
We will contact Apple and notified them of the incompatibility with previous versions.
I did not know there was a 2014.5 print music?
It's probably just Apple that got the 2014.5 update? Yes, that's right. It provides compatibility with the El Crapitan OS.

Could it be that F 2014.5 behaves weird for others - concerning ReDraw functions?
I have never ever had these problems before! - now, working on a 1050 bars piece, I get the BeachBall more than often!! VERY annoying! Is there something that I can turn off... or is it just incompatible? (It seems like Finale is looking for something... The delays are somewhat similar to when one of your disks has gone "to sleep"... and the app waits for it to spin up again).
Would be very grateful if there was a way out of this. RV iMac (12,1), 2,5GHz, 8Gb RAM • OS 10.11.3 Finale 2014.5 (2014d, 2012, 2008, 2005, 2003, v.3, v.1.1) Logic Pro 10.2.2 HP Laserjet 5200 | Back to Top

You can safely turn off the program setting “Automatic Music Spacing”, and instead apply music spacing manually as often as needed.
When you have finished entering the music, and are working on the layout, there is no reason to have the Multimeasure Rest document setting “Update Automatically” turned on. Turn it off, and you will avoid unpleasant surprises with “Update Automatically” destroying your measure width adjustments.

No. there is something in the background that's breaking!! and it is since I made this OS X update! RV iMac (12,1), 2,5GHz, 8Gb RAM • OS 10.11.6 Finale 2014.5 (2014d, 2012, 2008, 2005, 2003, v.3, v.1.1) Logic Pro 10.2.2 HP Laserjet 5200 | Back to Top

So it has to be something that I changed in the system. (maybe this update was too good to be true, after all) ?
Well. I have been watching the "Activity Monitor" meanwhile working in Finale... and I see some weird behaviour concerning the "mdworker32" - which is spotlight functions. At the moment - it "locks" my whole system, actually. Beachball rolling - and nothing happening. I'm not 100% sure if this is a clash between OS X .11.6 and Finale... or if it is something even deeper. (I only have this malfunction in Finale, though).
I turned off some spotlight indexing locations (for instance where my Finale file is located at the moment). Not really better... - I wonder if it is something with the quick-view function... ???
(Wich works TERRIBLE on my system, since Finale ALWAYS tries to make a quick View of my scores, but fails bluntly; since I use my private music-fonts).
will keep you posted if I find the solution.. RV iMac (12,1), 2,5GHz, 8Gb RAM • OS 10.11.6 Finale 2014.5 (2014d, 2012, 2008, 2005, 2003, v.3, v.1.1) Logic Pro 10.2.2 HP Laserjet 5200 | Back to Top
