|Once the cue notes have been created (the plug-in puts them in Layer 4 in reduced size), another way, after selecting the regions, is using the plug-in (to be installed) JW Change -> Note Entries > Playback -> Mute to make them silent (select their layer in the Filter).|

If all you need is to stop those cue notes from playing back, the key is to put the cues in a different layer (I use layer 4), and then to go into the Score Manager and set the playback instrument for that layer of that instrument to none.
In document settings > Layers, there is also a check box for Playback. I would assume that unchecking this for Layer 4 also has a similar effect ...
