Arg, very frustrated this morning. I tried to save a file I've been working on for a few days and got this message:

Finale Error
by gdgross2001, on Flickr
I tried to save it several ways, as a 2012 finale file, different locations, etc, and jet getting the same message, finale would not save the file. Fwiw, I'm on 2014.5

I lost probably an hour of work on my Robben ford solo transcription. 😡😡

I exported a midi hoping to just copy any paste back into the session, assuming that I'd have to recreate the tablature. But when I opened the exported midi file, it was all 8th notes and in a different key and had 4 staves. Looked like a completely different session. Argh.

Anyone seen this error before? I assume it's related to the fact that I've had the file open for several days; working on it just a little bit each day, with computer sleep/wake cycles at various points throughout the time. Nonetheless, it's supremely annoying; I had some choice words for finale this morning! ;-)

Next time, try saving a Clip File. That's the most useful way to get out of that mess.

There does seem to be a problem with leaving Finale (documents?) open for days: it may be that OS X is tidying up the temp folders prematurely.
