The new G5 iMac looks like a good choice, but now a new G5 1.8mhz powerbook has been introduced, and they both are reasonably priced. I know they are both adequate, but which would be best for Finale notation work?

As fast as your wallet can afford.

I just bought a 15" 1.33 PB - got a great deal on it as it was a demo. It's quite spritely - even Finale is usable <gg>.

But whatever you get will be hopelessly obsolete in 6 months. :-((

There are no G5 Powerbooks or Ibooks. The Ibook line has recently been updated with faster G4 processors.
