Since Finale 2004 I've had the problem of not being able to use my Standard foot pedal to start the Hyperscribe function. In the "Play Back and/or Click" I've had some success by using the "none(record immediately)" start signal. Now that doesn't work. My Korg Le is recognized in the "Tap" window -listen, but that's all. Now I find that when I start a new project I must first hit the Playback control, let it roll for a couple of measures and then I can at least use the "none (record immediately) parameter. I thought that the problem may have been corrected with Finale 2005 but it's not. I also have the OS9 on my system at work with the same problem. I've had Finale since 1989 and have never had this problem. Can any one help?

Did you accidentally reverse the polarity of your foot pedal in your keyboard settings? Do you have your foot pedal plugged into the correct slot in the keyboard? Some keyboards have two pedal inputs these days. If your keyboard does, make sure your keyboard is plugged into the "hold" input, not the "expression" input.

I just set my foot pedal to begin recording in hyperscribe and it worked perfectly.

As I said the pedal is fine, it is recognized by the machine. When I go to the "tap" window I am able to press "listen" and the program accepts my pedal as a "Standard Pedal".

This must be a bug in the Mac version. It works fine in the Windows version. Sorry I couldn't help. Maybe Makemusic tech support will chime in on this one.
