Does anyone know of any plug in or 3rd party add-on that will allow the use of a pen-tablet to directly hand-notate music in Finale (rather than using it like any other mouse)?

Thanks for any suggestions

Quick answer - no!

Finale uses fonts, not graphics for notes.

It might be that a graphics package might be what you are looking for - it wouldn't have any of musical functionality of Finale, but you would get a real handwritten look.

Thanks for the quick response.

I was hoping for an add-in that would take the hand-notation and save as TIF which could then be scanned in and converted to Finale notation.

My biggest challenge is quickly turning out band charts where there's a lot of shorthand, rests, road maps and cue notes. It's a lot quicker to handwrite it on paper - and there's not enough midi entry.
