I want each document to update the visible (live) margins, not just the information in the background. Like a true house style change. How do I do this?

There is an "import house style" script. It might do what you want.

nope, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to address page size and margins, although maybe there is a separate command for this as part of the house style settings that can be changed?

I note that it is possible to update the page size and margins from a single part in 2007 / 2008; it's just that it would be cool to have a way to incorporate this into a larger script that handles a number of things at the same time...

Hi Robert,

You should be able to control actual page margins with these commands:

// left pages:
left left page margin xx evpus
right left page margin xx evpus

// right pages:
left right page margin xx evpus
right right page margin xx evpus

If right and left page layout is the same, then simply use:
left page margin xx evpus //all left margins
right page margin xx evpus //all right margins

Alternatively, you may try to put ketchup on the Finalescript palette.

I hope this helps

You're welcome. I knew ketchup would do the trick.

In the "Edit System Margins" window, for the "Distance between systems", option what is the Finalescript command to set its value?

I find the most stable method of setting margins, page size, scaling, etc ... is using the page format for score (parts).

The reason for this is if you ever need to redefine the page finale looks at the page format for score as the default.

You can simply update a series of documents by first setting the page format for score in one document then run this script:

batch process folder (or process all open docs)

process subdirectories (if necessary)

don't process current doc

import page format for score

import page format for parts (not always needed)

redefine page
