I have scoured the forum for info on entering rests and it's all quite old and I'm not sure if finale has changed since then. My note palette on the left has no rests to choose from. Is there some...

I did that and it hasn't fixed the problem. I have previously edited the bar several times trying to get the right timing. Could some notes be hidden in another layer? I tried viewing all 4 layers...
