This is very strange, but it looks like I have this solved. I did get a FireWire card for my MOTU Traveler and that worked. But I think the reason the built-in audio wasn't working before was because...

I'll submit a case with the Aria logs, etc. later today or tomorrow. I'm waiting for the Firewire card for the MOTU Traveler so should be able to resolve a lot once it arrives. Thanks, Brian

Already did that. Same crash. Incidentally, I also installed Sibelius and it complains that no Audio hardware is found. Strange since it's a high end Dell machine with build in audio. Brian
